  • San Shou vs. Muaythai

Liu is the 80kg world champion in San Shou. He's fighting someone who looks like a retired-fighter or trainer.

Liu doesn't have power in either punches or kicks. His takedowns are pretty good though.

I'm more impressed with Zheng Yubao, who has actually fought quite well in K-1. He's got decent power.

In these type of matches, takedowns are legal and persued from the clinch?

Nice fights. I really like the fast wrestling philosophy of San Shou Kuai Jiao.

I don't like Liu, he's a fucking poor sportman with millions of stupid nut huggers in China. You should see all the stupid claim made by his fans on chinese forums, that he's the best in the world blah blah.

I'm actually chinese, and this is exactly the reason why I'm so depressed and ashamed to see the way Sanda is going, if you were gonna allow takedowns, why the elbow pads?? The rules are basically Sanda if you ask me. *Sigh*

Cool clips. I liked the take-down up against the ropes early in the first clip. The ref. was way too quick to seperate them in the clinch though

I've only seen a few of his matches, but haven't really followed his persona.

He fights more like a shuai jiao guy than a san shou, seeing how he just flicked his jabs, lead leg thai kicks. His strikes are lacking in power (atleast in this fight), but whenever the muay thai fighter launches a big kick or ties up, he gets a really nice takedown.

Personally, I'm more interested in following Zheng Yubao. He's more of a hard hitter.

Yea, I've only seen a few Sanda guys that have decent striking.

They have San Shou vs Muay Thai fights in Thailand but I agree that they shouldn't have to wear elbow pads. San Shou often times is mixed with Shuai Jiao and is called San Shou Kaui Jiao, or "fast wrestling in free fighting."
