I hope that one day things will be as Chalambok describes,
but I think alot of the talk about Master Toddy is from people who envy his success or have another agenda (other promoters)
anyone who knows the fight game will tell you that records are a funny thing
losses disappear or are turned into "no contests" and this goes for western boxing and MMA as well
As far as respected by people in Thailand, while I trained there, I remember 2 ministers from Thailand coming to visit the gym along with officials from one of the boxing organizations and the Nevada state athletic commision.
Melchor Menor was the first American fighter invited to fight in the Kings birthday celebration. Since he was initially trained by M Toddy
That to me suggests SOME degree of recognition in Thailand.
Saekson Janjira's gym sends fighters to Master Toddys promotions
Master Toddy has been promoting Muay Thai in the US since the mid 90's and was the first promoter of womens Muay Thai in the US.
I could go one but I would just be repeating the events I described earlier in this post.
I would like to thank everyone who maintained some degree of civility even those whose opinions drastically differ from mine.
