World Combat League-Mr. Chuck Norris

Hey if you subscribe to Black Belt magazine then you already have the July 06 issue. Mr. Chuck Norris is ingenius. Starting the world combat league which is full contact team competition. The rules are designed to encourage dynamic strikes and HIGH KICKS.. The teams are made up of 5 men and 1 woman.. The arena is raised high thus no one misses any action. The professional talent pool will come primarily from kickboxing, karate and tae kwon do. The rules are simple:

1) No Grappling
2)no leg kicking
3)and no choking.

Most other punches and kicks are allowed. I think the man is ingenuious for bucking the mixed martial arts craze and the grappling craze. Oh and another thing, his belt on the cover of Black Belt says 10th degree.{1}

So is it basically The West's answer to K-1, just like kick boxing is the West's answer to Muay Thai?

No, K-1 allows leg kicks.

So it's like a more restrictive K-1? pfftt, I think competition will be quite biased towards Karate and TKD fighters, as Leg Kick is an important weapon for most MT fighter's. We don't need another Karate/TKD style competition, just like we don't need another karate kid movie.

There's a reason why stand up combat competition is dominated by MT style fighters, and changing the rules just to put them in a disadvantage? hahaha a loser's doing.

The description given makes it sound like more than what it is.

It's basically a mixture of point karate and full contact kickboxing.........FC kickboxing was restrictive enough, without limiting a fight to one lousy 3-minute round like Norris's new organization does.

Not ingenious at all if you ask me.
