If you have to ask that question then it probably is too old to compete.

not too old!
I boxed in college during mu undergraduate in my 20's after getting out of the Marine corps I had 65 amature bouts, then I got married, went to seminaryhad 4 kids and got lazy, one day I found myself at 230lbs after having boxed at 147! I decided enough was enough I started MMA this last year at age 32 I am now 3-0 currently weighing 185lbs! You have to pace and condition yourself, and make sure you drop the weight! I am going down to 160 for our title fight in DEC, Cobra you are chiseled,
That is a great show of hard work, I am going to show my wrestlers, you motivated the heck out of me with those pics, thanks!

thanks. it's taken a lot of hard work and i still workout and eat well. I am dropping down to 205 for my next fight so im hungry right now!! got 5 lbs to go in two weeks, wish me luck. I can credit a ton of my success in getting into shape to my Kru, the Python. I actually passed my instructor level test two weeks ago which i felt pretty proud to do at 28. best wishes to you all, we gotta keep it going for all us "old" guys. =)

Ignore the naysayers, get in shape, and see what you can do. If nothing else, you'll know you tried and gave it no excuses - that's better than most men in the world can say.
I'm just playing, bro.
Congratulations for stepping up and doing something!Last edited by Tom Yum; 01-09-2007, 03:35 PM.

I think its a bit early to be worried about if you will have time to win a title. First you need to get yourself down to the gym and see if you enjoy the sport, it may not be for you. I dont think 27 is too old to start doing something that you enjoy and i think your goals are achievable. good luck.

Please be honest..thanks.when I finally will be light enough for my first fight. Always those blasted pringles. Curses.

And there was me thinking I was too old to take kick boxing seriously at 33. Maybe I should train harder in kick boxing. And excellent transformation Cobra! Pics like that help to motivate the rest of us. I chipped my fibula last year in training and could not train for several months, and what with work stress I piled on the pounds. Still struggling to get in shape again! My club participates in kick boxing events (I go for the kung-f really, just do the kick boxing for the workout) but sometimes I feel more motivated to give it a go!
