Does anyone know anything about SAFTA, and will anyone teach it to me besides a Navy Seal drill sergeant or a videotape?

SAFTA
This is bound to piss somebody off, but here goes. In my experience, anyone I've ever seen that trained in SAFTA was pretty much a joke. I'd also reference the UFC that had a match between John Hess and the guy from texas, Andy Anderson. There's SAFTA at work. John Hess won, but he did it because he's 8 feet tall and had a lot of weight (not the kind you can flex, either). He showed a real lack of skill, no real conditioning, and an utter lack of strategy in that fight. I have also trained with some Seals who said that they never heard of SAFTA, and others who said that although they'd heard of Jerry Peterson (the founder of SAFTA), the stuff they learned was orange belt level san soo type stuff. In their opinion (and mine too) you'd be better off with serious study of just about anything else that is remotely combative. Also, SAFTA markets itself by stating that it's the hand to hand system used by the Navy Seals. Actually, it was apparently a test program used in BUDs for hand to hand. BUDs trainees aren't seals, and if you ask any member of Spec Ops what they think of their hand to hand, you'll probably hear them tell you it's just a little shy of worthless. Now, with all of that said, I have to add that I don't know Jerry Peterson, and I've never trained with a qualified SAFTA instructor (I have trained with some folks that said they were pretty good at the stuff, though.), so these are just strong opinions and may be completely off base. However, I've not seen anything to date that could change my mind.

SAFTA and Scars
You may be right, and if I do have the two confused...oops. But I seem to recall a few of the guys (Ex-Seals and Buds students) that I trained with telling me about SAFTA, not Scars being included in their training...and sucking pretty bad. At any rate, my bad.

The grappling arts imply most fights end up on the ground. The striking arts imply all fights start standing up. The clinching arts imply the clinch can stop the striker from striking, and the grappler from taking it to the ground. The weapon arts imply the they can stop the unarmed man. A complete martial art implies any fight can go anywhere...be ready and able to go everywhere.
But I thought SAFTA taught you not to fear any man...ever again. And be able to beat 99% of the street thugs out there...or was that SCARS?
Just kidding guys.
Actually though, I heard that the advertising done in those formats are usually done by TRS without the permission of the Instructors. The people that made the tape, sign a contract that says in fine print that basically the advertisers could advertise by any means possible. But I've never seen any of those tapes.
