master skens kicking and jumping ability were enhanced by playing takraw i belive, wow apidej sit hirun, sport muay you are lucky to train with this man,one of my all time favourite boxers, along with poot lor lek
It's a nice and effective attack, but it's really rare to see any of boxers use this technique. Boxer need to have the right decision and make sure he will not fail before use otherwise he will become a victim instead. I have seen this happend in real fingt in the ring once "Nong Tum", his name or his real name is Parinya, Kiat Bussaba done this to opponent which was quite prefect and several other boxer such as Samart Payak Arun
Hi Everyone,
I am very new to this Forum and would like to reply to this post in order to give my view about Climbing up and downward Elbow. It is not very easy to do this technique. However you must train to perfection, then every thing is possible.Great Mauythai Arjarns and heros used this technique in the past. You won't see this technique being used in the Ring because fighters want to win the fight with simpler techniques, safer and safe energy.
As Master Sken,I fortunate to have trained with him for at least 2 years now.I found him one of the most complitent Muaythai teacher and year 1998 ,he has been awarded one of the best and most accomplished Muaythai teacher by Minister of Sport and Education of Thailand. He was presented a Blazer of honour at Sukhothai(an old Capital City of Thailand). If you have a look at his website, please go to his Blogg or his autobiography page.He was a Team captain of Takraw(Wooden ball) a traditional game of Thai Sport, which you can use shoulder, knees, elbows, kicks. He was selected to play Takraw for his country, but chose to study at PE University of Bangkok.
Master Sken trained and fought in Muaythai for his food and education, struggling all his life, when his father was murdered since he was 8 years old.He did train TKD when he was 14 years old but never stop training in Muaythai. He studied Sports and how to teach Sports and He chose Muaythai,Krabi Krabong and Martial Arts as his main subjects.
I was a professional fighter from Ubol and Lumpinee Stadium, then I became a Royal Navy Fitness Insrtuctor.I moved to England and work with my family.
I travelled 600 miles round trips to his HQ in Stockport and have learnt so much from a True Muaythai teacher and Martial Artist.I have had over 300 fights now but when I did free sparring with him.I felt like a beginner again. You must train with him and see him in person to be believed,I also found he teaches us so much both Physical and very strong in Mental training.
My teacher who taught me in my professional career was Arjarn Pot Sarasin
from Por.Meung Ubol Camp in Ubol Province,North Eastern of Thailand.
I hope I have helped to clear some doubt and questions about Master Sken.
We all can learn some thing all our life. One thing you must be open mind, dedication and determination. Most of all learn to enjoy life, sanook(enjoy)

A little clear up here. Arjan Pot Wongsemuangchan is the owner of Por Muang Ubol camp. Mr. Pote Sarasin is an elderly ex-politician from the elite circle. His family own a major share in Thai Namthip company which bottle and distribute CocoCola in Thailand. I believe that long time ago, he was once a vice prime minister of Thailand.
Thanks sportmuaythai,
After posted,I realised what I did.It must be Punch drunk,I feel stupid.Yes Arjarn Pot(Pote) Wongmeungchan(Wongmeungjun) was my teacher.Arjarn Pot and Orono visited England and Orono fought against Michael Liewfat of Holland at Master Sken show about 1989.My senior,Chaichana(Master Chana) is now living in UK.I told Master Chana about our teacher passed away.
Thanks sportmuaythai,

No problem, Mr.Sammeung. Orono worked as trainer at Fairtex where I train, last year. I guess that he didn't like teaching, since he stayed for a very short while.
Many thanks sportmuaythai,I am very glad to know that you do know Orono and met him.I think that he does not like to teach, as many fighters can fight but can't teach. To be a teacher, you need a lot of patient, good techniques and good comunication skills. All the best to you-sportmuaythai

This Jujitsu Master talking about Master Sken, when they were on the door together. I was witness to Sken's supreme fighting skills when we were 'invaded' by the Maoris rugby team. They were all bloody monsters. It kicked off and all I saw was Sken leaping about dropping about 5 or more Maoris using elbows and knees. bloody awesome! The last man was treated to a double jumping knee to the head, Sken had him in the typical Thai style head hold. He dropped like a puppet with its strings cut.
You have to remember that Sken is more ex TKD rather than MT.
Troll you have NO IDEA what your talking about. Ajarn Sken has been training and teaching MUAY THAI for over 40yrs! Do some proper research and you will find this to be true.
Arjarn Sken is very well respected in Thailand having been awarded one of the best and most accomplished Muaythai teacher by Minister of Sport and Education of Thailand. He was presented a Blazer of honour at Sukhothai. As stated by Sammeung, who like myself know Ajarn Sken.
By the way I have known Arjarn Sken for 25yrs and count him as a dear friend and Arjarn.
Oh one more thing just because you can't do a particular technique it doesn't mean it can't be done, by some-one like Arjarn Sken who has perfect technique and speed to apply this. So go off and practice and maybe one day you will.
All the best in muaythai

I do remember an account of Sken taking three guys out for the count in a club in Bolton some years ago. Don't know if they were Maori's though!
But 5? That's an amazing acheivement from anyone, let alone someone not that big physically.
But hey! What do I know? He is one of the top MT guys in this country and can certainly do the business well enough to take me out! No danger!
