1) Proper form (step to a 45 degree angle, turn your hips over all the way, cut through the target, and hit with the shin...leaning into the thing just right, and making sure it's a kick, not a shin-push. angulation is important...imagine in baseball or teeball even where you want to smack the ball with the bat.), plus kick the bag and pads alot...and run alot, and do alot of leg exercises at the gym.
2) it's natural that the left leg be less powerful then the right. Just kick a little extra with the left...
that simple.
good advice garland kick kick and kick some more,oh and kick hard! for your left side try standing right side forward for a while, develos the hip feeling better i think, dont neglet the switch kick though.also train the knee a lot straight and curved, again helps with the hips,oh and always come up high on your toes when you kick body and head heights especially, use your support leg to drive from the thigh calf and ankle, breath out when you kick, and last point(from me) relax when you kick,if you tense ive found it counter productive to kicking hard and fast, good luck
The best exercise for kicking is kicks. Kick thousands and thousands of times. Also, a daily stretching routine will help the power and speed in your kicks. Remember the formula speed x mass = power.

If you fight left side forward and are right handed, your right leg will be more powerful than your left.
Tell me how you throw your kicks. It could be a technique issue.
Even reed-thin guys with good technique and intent can kick like a mule.

Isn't it Mass * acceleration = Force? Then again I might've forgotten what I took last year
One thing that is rarely mentioned with regard to the thai round kick and that can double the power is to explode off of the ball of the kicking foot. Don't just use the thigh and the hips and the weight shift of the body. Think off exploding off of the line in a sprint when you throw the kick. I think you'll find that it is probably one of the missing elements in your execution.

develping speed and power, you'll just have to start running different drills. I usualy work out on the heavy bag running reverse kicks.
So I might warm up with 20 reverse front kicks on each leg
then go into a set of 50
reverse fron kick, step down jab cross
step back, jab, cross
Then a set of 20
reverse front kick, step down, jab cross
step bac, jab, cross, jab, cross
Do both sides and tha'll help develop your front kick and get speed in your hands as well. But, if your more into developing your round house, then change to that.
doing explosive frog jumps (squatting deep and jump up straight as explosive as you can) will also work great for getting speed and power. try to perform 60-100 in a row.
first time I did this I could barely walk next day.
