st obviously you are unfortunate enough not to have had a thai instructor who could teach you most multi angled kicks?
nd a lot of the spinning stuff like backfists etc were stopped in some countries as it was deemed uncontrollable & just dangerous especialy in amature stuff.
In the UK a lot of clubs wouldn't allow elbows in amature fights because of the danger so a newcomer coming into the club wouldn't notice it trained so much.
rd the amount of people i have seen put onto their backside because they were more interested in getting flashy kicks off against an opponent is comical which is why a lot of thai boxers even though they may know more kicks they will still tend to stick to the basics because most of the time it's all they need.
th more advanced stuff doesn't tend to be taugh to someone without already showing they have the capable skills to use it.
th have you ever tried to get a clean head kick in a full contact thai fight & see how difficult it can be?
