THis seems like a cool show but i wonder if all this scientific info is going to turn martial arts off to the country especially in the US? Anyone have any thoughts..Apparently The knee by a thai boxer compresses the chest the with the same amount of force as a 35 mph car wreck.

This has been around for a couple of years now, so I don't think it will have any impact negatively at all. Most people I know who have seen it are most impressed with Melchor's not being able to fully exploit his knee, wondering how much force he really could apply to a human. All in all, I think it might draw in more people; especially those who have grown up believing 'martial arts' to mean standing in a karate uniform, hands held low, punching straight out and yelling as loud as possible while 'focusing'. Now they have seen what energy the human body can produce.

      hello,

thats NOT what it is all about?

hahahahahahahahaha!!! it was an interesting program. didn't seem to have any impact one way or the other.

of course, chopping up a gelatinous body with a sword... there is big fun to be had in that!!

      hahhahaha!!

      thanks.

I saw it on television a while back. Wasn't the main lesson of the show that we must all bow down to the almighty Ninja?

Was it? I had to go to training when they got to the weapons.

very true. there was another martial arts show a while called "XMA", and it was terrible. FightSciense episode was much better. But ofcoarse the kung Fu guys scored the lowest than everyone else----------- because they weighed significantly less!

but there is gonna be a another FightScience that hasnt aired yet. Its gonna have Bas, and some other "mma" guys

I love seeing such comparisons. It's amazing to see the type of force and power the human body can generate.

It was good but it could have been better. All of the fighters should have been the same size. That would have given a far better means for comparison.

They should also take it to the next level. For instance with the punch they could have analized the body motions of the different fighters to see where the power of the more powerful hitters came from.

I look forward to the next one....
