Yeah, I voted for women on principle, but I think the guy would win generally. Not in every case or anything, there are always kick-ass exceptions, but in the few Guy vs. Gall firght I've seen the woman is just not agressive enough.

Again stressing the "not being sexist" thing, I mean, I AM a girl. It's just the truth. No drama.

I think the woman would win as long as she has her colt .38's.

Wow man, the women got raped (Referring to the vote). And yes, yes I do have guts/ball/etc. And no, I do not bother to read the little titles under peoples names, I typically just treat everyone the same. It's my manner of respect. Alot of people don't like it though :P

As for the crap-tastic aerobics kickboxing class, yes it was a mistake. Those things happen time to time, especially when it is your first time. I guess you wouldn't know that though.

...I bet I can change everybodies opinion on this...

give me a bunch of anabolic steroids, the meanest women you can gather, a fully functional gym, and some top-quality trainers...and in 6 months I will have a monster that will butcher a SMALLER man without these afformentioned amenities.

              Somebody like Marcus Ruhl's wife...Simone.

On another note...I have decided to quit training and find a girl like this to protect me if I ever need it. "Honey...go kill the neighbor, his look offends me." "DA DEAR!!"

So essentially you're saying that you treat everyone in a rude manner with no respect? There's a difference between having guts/balls and being a rude ass.

I say the guy wins. I'm trying to find studies I've read that indicate women handle prolonged pain better but men handle blunt trauma better, so that in and of itself... not to even mention muscle mass...

And yeah women whose body fat percentage is too low stop menstruating... that means your bones are in danger of calcium depletion, which probably wouldn't be particularly useful in a fight situation.

I do have a collection of links of women beating men in fights so yeah, it is possible...

I do think there are some areas women really excel in that take longer for men to learn. Primarily what I've noticed is that women (and smaller men) have to use technique because of their size. I've seen this in Olylifting too. So that's the good news, I guess--if women keep plugging away and getting better technique (etc.), there will come a time when the men who are training wrong and muscling through things will realize that won't work anymore against the same opponents. And on that day, they will be very sad.

I would disagree with you about women and technique. I feel men on average, learn fast, and have better technique when it comes to fighting arts. The anatomy of a man(bone structure, muscle mass) weighs heavily on this issue, also man's natural inclination towards physical fitness and spacial intelligence.

And they're quicker. It's really unfair to compare a women and and man of the same weight. You need the women to out weigh the man by a substantial amount to have the same muscle mass.

I have known a number of fantastic women fighters; however eight times out of ten, I feel that men are psychologically better prepared for fighting. This may be largely hormonal, I couldn't say, but men like the idea of fighting on primal level much more than women IMO.

For this reason also I think men, as a generality, start off with an advantage over women. Down deep, we want to be warriors.

I've certainly seen women try to muscle through things, but when they realize it doesn't work they pick up better technique. And although I know a ton of men with great technique, I've also seen a lot of men basically ignore technique and muscle through things. At a couple BJJ gyms I know they put guys like this through a program that's called "you go really slow while everyone else goes fast." A lot of them quit. I definitely think men are more cut out physically, emotionally, etc. for fighting, BUT I also think women absolutely have to learn better technique to hold their own on the matts than men do. Every once in a while women with good technique get better than men with bad technique--pure strength stops working after a while. That's all.

My Olylifting coach says his women lifters have better technique and in arts like taijutsu that use your whole entire body women often progress faster because they are used to doing this in day to day life.

The problems women face in martial arts (and there are many) are pretty well-known but I think it's important for women to recognize when/where they have an advantage--and for male coaches/sifus as well.

Having said that I've only tapped out one guy once, ever... and I've only outlifted guys that don't train seriously. I hope it's good motivation for them to train harder!
