  • Conditioning and Plyometrics

    Hi everyone,

Ive been doing Muay Thai about 2 years on and off but recently decided to get back in the swing of things properly.

Im just about to order a heavy bag, its 6ft and 40kg, but it is about 130 euros do you think that will come filled? I ask as I hear romours that some of them dont..?

Once I get the bag I want to mainly focus on conditioning my shins, does this just come by kicking alone?

Finally what plyometric, strength and power and body conditioning excercises would you all recommend?

    Thanks for any responses!!

    - Jaxx

PS. It dosent say on the add for the bag that it comes filled or not.

Id stick to a 4 foot bag if i were you mate, no need to get a 6 foot bag for low kicks they tend to be thinner anyway.
Only place ive seen 6 foot bags is in Butlins, i mean faitex, slip of the tongue.
I found the 4 foot bags to be better overall.
look up strenght training and power training. on youtube look up ross enamait.

            hello,

wow. 3-5 days... sounds fast. over here in the other side of the pond, something like a heavy bag would take a couple weeks.

hmmmm. maybe should move over there, neh?

not sure if possible to get used to tea though. hahaha!!

            thanks.

good choice mate, youll definately be glad you chose that over the 6 foot bag, they are too narrow to absorb anything powerful and are crap for punching. 4ft bag is ideal, hang it high mate, the bottom of the bag swining around where your balls swing or higher.

then you can knee it well, also be aware alot of the stuffing WILL sink down and youll be glad of hanging it higher later because the bag gets longer due to the sinkage and loss of internal volume. the bottom however will become solid and this is what you want, the bottom 2 feet of the bag or so.

              enjoy it.

Thanks for all the help, yeah it will be hung high, only bad thing is it will be in my garage so it wont always be up, have to take it down when not in use, not bothered by that tho. Mainly want to focus on shins and punching tho.

                Cheers again
