BJJ?MMA came to thailand earlier than 1996, my instructor who lived in thailand and had trained since 1990 in BJJ taught on saturdays in bangkok in 1993 (no gi/mma techs), and that small group trained for a good period of time. There are videotapes of that with time/date stamps. The first organizzed classes came later with the efforts of emac and other schools. But there were alot of thais and foreigners working in 1993 and continued with the mma thing.

Again your history is distorted and more of a lie. When will you learn to do research and stop the lying and propaganda.

Hello everyone. I was offered a job in Nha Trang, Vietnam and so was reading about Vietnam in internet and this is where I first heard of vovinam.
Is this related to muay chaiya or Chinese MA? Also does nayone know of martial arts school or training hall near Nha Trang or Cam Ranh Bay? Thank you.

Its just a lack of credibility on these guys part. They dont even have the guts to post under their real names, they use such names as killer, deoz and stormtiger like WWE wrestlers but never step up to the plate. I told them to get directly in touch and they turn it into a moment to grandstand and post all the school info. I am trying to illustrate a problem here with praeng and his students, they have created enormous problems in thailand and i am sure they will eventually get a foreign or american student who will start sprouting all the propaganda all over again. Praeng has alienated and pretty much disgusted the entire muay chaiya community with his boasts and his antics. This is turning into the old kung fu days with the big mouths running their mouths and never fighting then when they do, you scratch your head and say wow, it wasnt even worth it. Like i always say at the end of my posts about these guys, caveat emptor. Hopefully they will go away and devise some more garbage to throw our way, its always entertaining when they show up, they dig themselves their own grave then runaway when they cant take the heat. Sad...and like I said totally lacking in integrity, substance and ability.

Oh sorry for i dont know about this becuase like Muay Chaiya we train in small group too. and i think that time Kru Preang will not know about you instructor group too.

But in Ground Fighting Kru tong teach to Kru Preang but yes it like 1.56 minute in Martial Art 2003 video but not only grappling we hit and grappling in same time.

When you go "teach" and I put that in parenthesis because you are a joke, "doctoral collegian of Muay Thai College at Jom Bung(whihc is a joke onto itself), try and do research to enlighten that little pea brain of yours.

Before you state things, you research them. You think because you heard things from kru praeng that its the truth but its far from that. The whole thing about groundfighting is absurd. It was taught way before Praeng even mentioned or taught when he saw it on dvd or through his students, HE MADE UP this bogus groundfighting system by labeling it with ancient names and theory, RESEARCH THAT and you find my statement to be true. Add that to your history books. Anyone who researchs this will find it the truth.

Kru Praeng is just exploiting muay chaiya and killer remains his propaganda minister and despite going to teach "doctoral collegian of muay thai college at jom bung", he is as lost as ever.

There was a foreigner who had done the same rewriting the history of ancient Muay and labelling Muay Boran, just like cooking a dish randomly mixing all the ingredients.
Killer seems to be adding his own ingredients everytime there is the need to.

Im from sydney AUSTRALIA been training martial arts for many years(Tae Kwon DO, Hap Ki Do, and Muay Thai)
Just reading your comments on this forum about Muay chaiya, all i wanna know is which is the best one to train at? is Kru Preang or Kru Lek as i am planning on coming to thailand in the next couple of months to train there..... Oh i have to somewhat agree with George about how the westerners have sort of caught up in the trainining especially the scientific side..... i mean we get guys from thailand to come and fight here in our various cities in AUSTRALIA and they always get hammered, probably cause where a bit bigger in size.....

I am thinking of training with mr LEK, what do youse say

Hi, well i wouldnt expect much in the way of real fighting or usage. I would personally bypass both men but thats my view and not the commonly held one. Each man has taught for decades without producing anyone of note in any competition even refusing to compete in yearly burma - thailand which is the perfect complement to uphold bare knuckle tradiition, and also produce future fighters or as a developing tool for gauging how much successs this system can be put to the test. My point was always you dont have to do muay thai but at least get out there in something that is your style bare knuckle with little rules and experience it which amounts to lets see if you can prove it. I think when you dont fight you tend to make these systems into strict karate type of things, my way is real, you didnt put your foot there so he doesnt know this or that. Thats the thing they argue about. I was there longer, I am the true master, grandmaster....this is nausating and not the stuff foreigners need ot do. I think thats what it has become a anicent exercise.

I dont want to start another yearly war over this because we have endless threads on the debate. You can simply search back and go through them. The opinions including mine havent changed actually worsened. But others have various opinions and experiences that are equally valid and true.

I think if you do your homework and do some investigating though you can find some good chaiya teachers who teach in a good healthy format without any bullshit. The point is there is too much bullshit and ego and informercials in the system mostly from these two teachers who compete for the throne of grandmaster without displaying any qualities or fighting abilties that would prove them worthy of it.
