  • Need some advice from everyone

They have started a full contact kickboxing team in Holts Summit Mo, and I was offered to be a primary fighter on the team. I have done several NHB fights but not just kick boxing.

We will be using 12 oz gloves and a mouth peice.

My question is should my approach to training be more adapted to primarily kick boxing or continue to train in everything else.

    Thanks

Why dont you go for the kickboxing first, then when you decide to fight in NHB again, your standup will be so much better!

      Training Specificity

Each fight game is different: Thai boxing, American Kickboxing, NHB, Sport Jiu-jitsu, Point Karate, etc...You really need to concentrate on whatever rules there are and get really used to fighting within those parameters....

      Walk on,

Well, I think you should do like this:
You should think carefully, are your techniques good enough for match, i.e. are your kicks good enough, you punches, your blocking...
If you think that they're fine, you should do following:

Number 1: Do lots and lots of physical training to improve your strength, etc...

Number 2: Spar a LOT to improve your "ball-eye"

        Also do as Steve advised
These are all you need for fight, so GOOD LUCK!
