  • Thailand Training Diary

    Hello,

I know this forum is about muay thai in USA but my experience may be of interest to some people. I'm living in Thailand for one year and training at Sasiprapa gym in Bangkok. I'm keeping an online diary of my experience at

    Muay Thai Training in Thailand

I'm happy to help anyone who has any questions or is thinking of doing the same.

    Train hard.

    Good luck and have fun!
Is one of your goals to fight, or just train?
    Thanks
    Jake

Definately to fight. In fact I doubt I'll go home anyway, and just continue living here and fighting.

Thanks Jake, I'm originally from Perth in Western Australia.

It's been hard to go from living in the middle of a forrest to an overcrowded and hot city miles away from the beach but I'm hanging in there. Having my own apartment now helps a lot.

Nice journal. Sounds like fun to me. I wish I could be there right now. Reading your journal has made me want to start training more (and harder). Thanks for the inspiration.

                    P.S.-
I think I'll have some Thai food for lunch......lol.

hey i know this has been asked a bit, but im not really familiar with Thailand.

Anyway, i am looking at going to the "full moon" beach party at Koh Phangan i believe. Then i want to go to a gym for a week and train. Dont have to fight, just want to get some more experience.

Could someone recommend anywhere? Also i dont speak Thai... if that is a issue?

                        Hi Figjam,

My friend trained at Horizon gym on Koh Phangan and said it was a good gym. Their website is Muay Thai Boxing Training Camp in Thailand - Learn Muay Thai kickboxing on Koh Phangan Island

It's no problem if you don't speak Thai, especially on that island. I would recommend learning some common phrases before you come though, as it will make your experience more fun if you can interact with the locals.

                        Chok Dee! (Good Luck)
