I'd like to train in both, so if I make it out that way, I'll research some schools.

My school has produced a SEA games gold medalist. FYI.

What's the school's name and/or website? I'd love to check it out.

          Manjusri secondary school.
I shall not expose myself further.
          Haha.

I'm looking at going to Tiger. How was the grappling side of things?

                Hey man,

I talked about it a little bit in my post, but I didn't go into too much detail. The grappling program is good. You will get a lot of technique, but not as much fitness, so you might want to train MMA in the morning and MT in the afternoon for fitness, or just do your own fitness.

Ray Elbe was away at TUF Season 9 competing for a spot in the house while I was there, so the trainers at the time were the Avelan brothers from the Freestyle Fight Academy in FLA. They were great trainers and taught a lot of great techniques.

                  Thanks man!

I read your review and it was a very informative read. I'll definitely take up your advice on accommodation.

I was planning on both the MT and the MMA anyway as I am a great fan of both and it would be a crime to go to Thailand and not do MT

For visa runs I'll make some inquiries amongst teacher friends there as I think I can give you comprehensive and up to date options to add to your blog. None of the people I know in Thailand use Myanmar (Burma) for their visa run.

Thanks man, I would appreciate it. I know a lot of people go to Malaysia, but it's a 2 day trip, although you get your visa extended for 3 months.

I am glad that it helped. When are you going? If you stay at Nature House, make sure to tell Sunny and Ae I said hello.

                    Dan

PS Did you click some of my google ads on my blog? It helps me raise money for my return trip. Thanks.

                    Dan

Looks like I'm going in late June.

You can get a 90 day tourist visa by getting it from a Thai embassy in you're own country before you leave. The visa on arrival, as you know is only good for 30 days. For anything longer than 90 days you would have to approach an embassy in your own country anyway and probably be looking at some sort of student visa.

Yeah, I believe there are 4 Thai Embassy's in the US. NY, LA, Chi, and one other place I believe. I looked into it ahead of time, but I didn't need one as I was only going for 30 days.

Cool man, I'll send some blog pics when I'm done.

I clicked some links to help your cause.

                          BE LUCKY!

Thanks bro. You are going at a good time. In June it starts to get a little cooler. You may have some rain still, but the hottest month is April, so at least you won't have to contend with that as much.

Looking forward to getting some pics and hearing about your time out there.
