  • Krabi Krabong sparring....

I just wanted to share a few picts of one of our sparring sessions....

    Mai Sawks vs Double Daab

    Fighter one: Black helmet
    Fighter two: white helmet.

Black delivers a left Kaw strike

White counters and begins to bridge into close range.

Black moves back attempting a right thrust and side step.

White counters the thrust and delivers a blow to the head.

    Double Daab vs. Double Daab

    Fighter one: Black helmet
    Fighter two: white helmet.

Black attempts a double Hua strike

White counters simultaneously delivering a right Teep.

    Black goes down

    White moves in to finish.

In the last shot, just imagine what that would have done if it were a blade.

Thanks man! how about another one?

        Mai Sawks vs Double Daab

        Fighter one: In Red
        Fighter two: In Yellow

Yellow essentially throws out a right Jab with the Mai Sawk.

As he does, he lets go of the handle of his left Mai Sawk letting it slide down, the rope catching at his wrist extending his reach.

Red can't see this since yellow is right side forward with his jab.

Yellow flows through with the drop...and red realizes too late that yellows reach has extended dramatically.

Pretty good, William. I like to see Krabi-Krabong getting more exposure as people are becoming less afraid to try it. There will be some photos/videos coming from the Dog Brothers Canadian Training Camp in the next couple of months that will show more Krabi-Krabong stylists versus different weapons. The Dog Brothers are on the cutting edge...lol...so to speak, so we all knew it was only a matter of time. And well, to be honest, that time seems to finally be here. Thanks - Steve Wilson

            Thanks Steve!

Actually, one of my guys above was there so I'm looking forward to getting his take on it as well.

            Best regards,
            William

                  Hey Steve,

I saw some footage of Eric and Loki going for it with the Mae Sawks. Good stuff.

Teeps are effective, even when not going full bore.....

Yeah, that hurt him a bit.

                    William

                    PS: He's ok.

The guys are still buzzing and we're already discussing when we might set it up again. We all had a great time. We're working hard on the material and expanding on it as well.

You think Eric's kidneys still hurt? Just kidding.

I forgot to mention that I have a lot of photos up now. I have more to add and the video will come later.

                            Thanks again!

Last night we rounded out our training session with two on one full contact double Daab sparring. Obviously the need for zoning becomes quickly apparent if you haven't done this before. One of the guys made the mistake of trying to cut between the attackers and very quickly learned that's a bad idea. We worked it with the attackers working in formation as well as free for all. We also used the numerous heavy bags and other objects in the gym as cover and zoning obstacles to make things more interesting and environmentally (as can be in a gym) realistic.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures to share, my camera batteries died.....and I had just charged them up. Well be doing this again in our next session so we'll get some footage to post.

                              Best regards,
                              William
