Well, a large number of ex muay thai fighters work in bars and brothels as muscle, so you have to be careful when shit breaks out. You also dont want to get stabbed which has happened on a few occassions. The upscale brothels have a ton of guys working the floors.

Very different from western bars and such. I am not a fan of these, but I have read some Geoff Thompson books and talked to some bouncers and by no means would they hit or kick customers, the first thing is to prevent, neutralize and throw out. Then if there are grudges well that's something else.
I understand they are trained to handle things, there is a well coordinated team taking care of things.
But Thailand is Thailand so things are very different.

I just cannot stand discos and such here in Europe so when I see the copy of these in Thailand it's like nonsense to me, but that's just my opinion.

Yes, se asia has a totally scene and things run differently here. It can get especially wild in cambodia too from what i hear.
