Next summer I'm vacationing in Cambodia for the break because my parents want me to learn Cambodian so they don't have to translate everything our relatives say to me. I will be with a decent amount of money, and I want to join a PS gym. My only concern is what it costs. Is it as much as gyms in the US, or is it cheaper since Cambodia is a fourth-world country. I also would like to know what I may need, what's in store if I do it, and anything else you feel I should know.

All input is well appreciated. Thanks.

Hey I am a ps practitioner I can answer some of your questions for you. I am supposed to be in cambodia in february. Training there is a lot more difficult than most places here. I train with cambodians who have a sister school in pnom phen. So I have a very realistic training regimen comparable to what you will experience there. Yes training will be very cheap about the equivalent to 3 dollars for a month. U need to bring your own gloves mouth guard cup and shorts they have them there but bring your own training will most likely be 6 to 8 hrs per day everyday split between morning and afternoon running will be at least an hour in the morning and another at night a lot of time will be spent on combo drills and pad work sparring every other day. Anything else you can pm me

What is it like travelling to Cambodia? I have heard good and bad. Still dangerous? Are the people open and friendly to Americans? Affordable to get there and back?
      Thanks

Cambodia is very very poor. So that environment can be expected. The people are generally nice and it is a very affordable place only don't expect the same experience as you would find in thailand. I however have not been to cambodia yet but am supposed to go in feb. If all of my passport stuff is squared away. You have been to my gym but did not get to experience the ps only the toddy seminar. I would highly recommend you come spend some time with us before you plan to go to cambodia because what you experienced with toddy is worlds apart from the way we train. I know we have conflicting schedules between your school and mine but if you want to go there you will need to make the trip down from bham to see what you will be getting into. We train the way they train in cambodia not the way you got to see. By the way did you ever get in contact with steve? I know you are interested and I wish you could get down to train with myself srab and boa. But obviously steve is the more convenient choice.

Thanks bro. I am just thinking of the travel to SE Asia for fun. Heard nothing but good things for the most part.

I plan on setting up a lesson with Srab after the new year. Money is a bit tight right now.
I have emailed Mr. Wilson, and am still waiting to hear back.
          Thanks
          Jake

              Not directed at me, but...

When I went there 3 years ago, the people were friendly, albeit very poor. They have about as much crime as America, but unfortunately, law enforcement isn't very good. It's affordable to come and go. Though, if you meant "dangerous" by mines from Vietnam War/ Khmer Rouge, that won't be a problem unless you are traveling through the jungle. If you are going through there, stay on the road and hire a guide if you can. I saw and gave money to many poor people on the streets who were missing a limb or several limbs.

Thanks for sharing bro. Did you go for fighting, or just holiday?
                Thanks
