Yes they are quite unique but there's nothing more than dances on the northern stuff,
too bad because it's good meterial. Same for the Burmese methods you rarely see videos or even pictures!

very smooth. Do they use sticks too like the filipinos do because the filipino move from the bladed weapons to the sticks with equal ease. the more i see the more i like it too.

thank you for that addition. I have been collecting all the little videos. I like watching all the different styles and movements. very interesting.

Glad you liked that, I had never seen these kinds of movement before,
it's similar to lanna but different.
George I think they may well translate sword movements to stick movements,
at least judging from how easily that man moves with a stick!

True, I think they reflect the different types of swords you can find especially in the north.
I had an interesting discussion with Vincent of the vanishing flame, swords with different weight and length can be used differently. It seems obvious but I tend to focus on the swords I use and don't think about the very light and thin ones that are typical of the nortthern region. Those can well be used like the man does in the video.

The movement is very similar to Pentjak Silat, very flowing and coiled if you know what I mean

Yes the movements can look similar, but they are definitely of a different origin.

I think it looks like a choreographic way to get killed with a knife.
