Thanx for posting these george. Great videos. I recommend that everyone if you get a chance to, train with the cambodians. They have a lot of fight in them and are great people. You will learn a lot from them. Plus they usually feed you some good khmer food afterwards. I was fortunate enough to be invited for private training with my kru at his home. And it was awsome. Thanx again george.

I learned a lot of elbow techniques and how to move more freely. The experience was great. I wouldn't have traded it for anything. I got to meet some really cool people including a buddhist monk who said a nice prayer for some of us before a fight. I would say that pradal has more action involved than most of the muay I have experienced. My kru was very fast and elusive. Its a strong fighting art and they don't play when it comes to training. I was doing 4 hrs a day when not preping to fight. I will say though their clinch work is less than what you would find in muay thai. These statements are solely from my personal experience. Some may have other opinions. But no matter what your opinion try pradal serey if you get the opportunity it looks the same as MT but you will find that they are very different. Also not to sound like the chaiya guys but a lot of the old movements are actually taught to be applied which you don't see much of anymore. Or at all in america for the most part.

Not a bad idea too to keep this thread going with great cambodian fighters and fights.

Here is a great flying knee to show some of the more exciting techniques of pradal serey. This is straight out of a jaa film.

Nice ko. At first I thought it was an exhibition but now I see bret was just a little slow.

Yes george eh is their champion. Wether he has a belt or not. Because he made was a big part in helping pradal serey get its noteriety back. He is the one who fought the foreigners. I think he still does exhibitions. But he is overweight now and does movies. He's probably the most famous non religious face in cambodia.
Pradal serey has a very brutal history, well the khmer people themselves have a turbulent history. They almost were wipped from existence by the khmer rouge. They went around and killed any educated people, fighters, artists. Anyone that would have posed a threat.
Its a shame but we see this same thing happening today in myanmar. There is a genocide taking place and the rest of the world has chosen to turn their backs and ignore it like they did then. A lot of real martial arts and beautiful cultures are being lost because of this.I hope to see lethwei survive the troubles in myanmar the way pradal did in cambodia.
