My 2 cents. I care a lot about the art of Muay Thai--enough to answer basic questions multiple times if necessary to help other people learn about the art. I view that as part of my responsibilities as a teacher.

What concerns me is that, more than any other art I have studied, my Muay Thai teachers have stressed discipline, respect humility and basic decency in their teaching. This isn't something that is provided in a uni-directional manner from students to teachers. And it isn't antithetical to having your act together as a trainer and/or fighter. Not at all. The point is that in Muay Thai we treat ALL people with decency, whether they're more advanced in the art with respect as well as your peers or beginners.

If we loose that then we're gonna be perceived as just a bunch of thugs bragging and pounding our chests. That is NOT what the people in Thailand intended when they brought this art out.

So, be aware that the bar of expectations is higher on the Muay Thai portion of the forum, just as it is in a Muay Thai gym. (Frankly, if you guys talk trash this way at Fairtex you'll be picking your teeth up off the floor. And I can guarantee you that.) I will delete posts and/or threads if necessary, but I would much rather persuade you that the spirit of Muay Thai IS about conduct, and that is a good thing.

And by the way, me making a reference to ebonics doesn't mean I have an issue with "blacks" and I don't have a issue with people who can't spell or who can't speak properly, but I do have an issue with people who are always slamming others that are trying to learn.

I guess I figure that if you're going to start ripping on people for wanting to learn, that you should be reminded of how much you still have to learn as well.
