Nowadays, most styles in Thailand owe something to the Buddhai Sawan within their lineage, as PaKroo Samai Masamarn helped so much to revive Krabi-Krabong after World War II.

This may be a dumb question...but are there any stories about Krabi-Krabong being used by Thai soldiers in WWII? It seems like there should be something...and I'm sure it would make a damn good read, but I haven't been able to find anything. Could yourself or Mr. Stando point me in the right direction?

Krabi Krabong dates well before por kru samai and there are numerous styles as vincents dvd indicates and shows clearly, if you want to understand por krus life and specific contribution check out the dvd it is very well researched.

I emailed Vincent and he said there were underground movements during world war II trained in sort of guerilla tactics based on the old krabi krabong to be used against the japanese occupation. Best bet is to email Vincent on the historical stuff as I am not really good at it and I dont want to put words in his mouth.

This is the first flyer for the 1st Annual Krabi-Krabong Camp I have the pleasure to be hosting. Limited enrollment this year, 40 people. Everything is provided, food, sheets and pillows on real beds, beautiful scenery; even a ride from the airport via bus, then an 80-minute ferry ride through the beautiful San Juan Islands of Washington. I am going to do my best to give everyone a great foundation they can build on, as per my agreements with the Royal Kingdom of Thailand, Ajarn Surachai Sirisute and Ajarn Dan Inosanto. Thailand: Art of Fighting

Just got an email from Ajarn Pedro Solana, his new book Thailand: Art of Fighting has been published and is available now. Like Ajarn Vincent Giordano, who sometimes contributes here, Mr Solana is a serious student and promoter of the Thai National Martial Arts. He has a successful, limited-enrollment martial arts school in Chiang Mai, Thailand, named the Ancient Martial Arts Academy. I urge anyone who is interested in the history and viability of Thai martial arts to check it out.

I just recently was given the video "Krabi-Krabong, the Buddhai Sawan Path" It is produced, written and narrated by Ajarn Vincent Giordano. I recommend it to anyone interested in PaKroo Samai Masamarn, the Buddhai Sawan International Swordsmanship of Ayuthaya, or Krabi-Krabong in general.

I recently posted an interesting video on YouTube of Loki Jorgenson (Dog Brother name, I believe, is Sneaky Dog. If I am wrong someone please let me know and I can edit this) doing a double-fire sword demonstration for a bunch of kids (and us) last month. It sounds pretty cool, if you listen, and each 'show' lasted about 2 minutes, so it was a great physical workout for him. You can just type in my name and it should be in my videos. Preparing for the Pacific Northwest Muay Thai Camp

I am proud to announce the 2nd Annual Chalambok Krabi-Krabong Camp. This summer we are again holding it in Bellingham, Washington, USA. My sponsors have agreed to change the date to July 11, 12 & 13, so anyone looking to prep themself for the Pacific Northwest Muay Thai Camp can get up to speed on form and aerobic conditioning. It is for sure Colonel Nattapong will be a guest instructor for Master Chai again in 2008, much like 2000. 2nd Annual Chalambok Krabi-Krabong Camp

My thanks to participants, I worked them pretty hard for 2 1/2 days, 15 hours of credited training. We had time to explore double swords, staff, spear a little and an hour or so of mai sok torture... Sad but no one from the TBA chose to come again. Makes me wonder, you know? Oh well, life is change.
