I have a question for the fighters out there.

This is a sincere question and not meant to offend anyone.

Is there any money to be made in fighting in the ring for muay thai?

I know some kickboxers make a little money but I'm wondering if it is worth it.

I mean it seems boxer that are any good can make decent to great money, but I have not heard of thai fighters even getting close to a respectable sum.

If anybody has any info i'd appreciate it.

It doesn`t make any sense, in a way... Kickboxers are not as brutal compared to Muay Thai, Muay Thai you get bashed with knees, elbows (if allowed) and REALLY HARD KICKS!, punches to) and they don`t get paid much. Boxing is really popular, and they make lots of money. Maybe if Muay Thai will be more popular like Boxing in the US, then they should get paid more.

But it depends on the knockouts or hits. But the most I`ve seen was maybe 2500, and not sure of the technique.

That just reminds me also, its not worth having broken ribs or dying at an early age when tooken enough beatings already and getting money that you can spend really fast; Though there are amatuer bouts hehe

hell I'd let somebody break my ribs with a kick for a couple of million.

In boxing some of these guys get 8 million or more even if they lose.

The biggest money I've heard of for any type of martial arts was when they were offering money in the beginning of the UFC.

Weren't they offering about a 100K just seems like if you were a great fighter you'd be better off working on boxing and making some money then going on and do your NHB or Muay Thai Than to try to eek out a living with 1000 dollar bouts

oh and Kls don't fool yourself in some areas Kickboxers and suck are just as brutal as Muay Thai fighters.

Some Kickboxers are actually Muay Thai fighters that just want a little ring time with someone of a different style.

some of my mates came from TKD to muaythai but fight kickboxing with the advantage of having heavier kicks over the kickboxers "flicky kicks"

There really is no major money to be made in Muay Thai fighting. I believe that the biggest pot of money to be offered for martial arts fighting is in PRIDE.
