Just read the bio of Montanha Silva from Brazil on sherdog. He is 7'3" and weighs 396!!!! Finally Bob Sapp will have someone to compete against in K1. They should re-define the weight boundary for super heavyweight. Its crazy to have a guy weighing 220 go against a 310+ pounder.

If I'm not mistaken, Sagat's character is based off of Diesel Noi "King of knees". Check out this link - its pro muay thai, but good.

Great site Tom!!! This is precisely what I've been saying. Guys like Joe Lewis, Benny Urquidez and Don Wilson all proclaimed to be world champions when they had never fought the world's best. Back then, if you won a few matches in America, you were a world champ.
Today, kickboxing hardly exists except as part of Muay Thai or under International rules. I knew Muay Thai was the REAL DEAL when I saw Rob Kaman fight.

Thanks. Sage, we need to give some credit to guys like Joe Lewis & Benny "The Jet". They paved the way for boxers, karateka, TKD & kungfu to train and fight each other in a unified sport. Funny thing about us is that we shun foreign things until they are clearly better suited for our needs.
Muay Thai just happened to be the roughest and powerful form of stand up fighting out there, it was just a matter of time.

What about Bill "Super Foot" Wallace?
At 5 foot 10 & 1/2 what he didn't have in size he made up in speed & power.
I saw bill in a demonstartion in the UK GB in 1995 & he still had all his skills then!!!!

kh_s, check out sherdog.com
There's a pic of a guy sitting on another guys shoulders holding focus mitts.
Retired: Superfoot is arguably the best kicker in America and maybe one of the fastest on Earth. His hand techniques were ok, but kicking at 60 mph? Dang! I read alot about him in BB magazine and saw a tape on him. How would he fair against a giant thaiboxer? Not sure, but I think he could be succeptable to leg kicks.Last edited by Tom Yum; 06-24-2003, 12:54 PM.

Sure but you could say that of many fighters, but most people who have been lucky enough to see him in the flesh were still amazed & many didn't even realise in the flurry of punches & kicks that he threw he only used his left leg!!!!!!
I bet if most fighters took his kick when he was in his prime many would fall, even being a thaiboxer i still applause anybody who has done well in their own respective Martial Arts.
It takes courage to fight/compete & many who have just watched will only ever see it from one side & not the overall picture the fighter see's.
