I would be interested in hearing from you guys that have fought/trained in traditional muay thai how to prepare for taking hard knees to the body from the clinch.
When I spar with Int'l MT rules, knee techniques are no more than light contact, but is really tough to handle repetitively for several rounds.
Is a 'spartan' ab routine necessary? Or should I just suck it up? Having knees rip into me while holding the thai pads for huge fighters makes me feel like puking. Any advice?
