Anyone here ever participated in one of these events?

Dont know too much about them. Is it just pure boxing? Or do they allow for some kind of kickboxing as well?

They are boxing only, but tournament style. If you win, you keep fighting, I think it's 3 or 4 fights, and it's 3 1-minute rounds per fight. I haven't participated, because you have to live 75 miles or less from where they are having the fight, and they aren't allowed to fight in NYC, where I live. I think it's very hit-or-miss in terms of skill set, I've seen some serious chumps, and I saw some guys who definitely knew what they were doing. Also, there are certain amateur status rules, like no more than 5 amateur fights in 5 years, and stuff like that.
