The key to immortality is first to live a life worth remembering

On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow
-- Friedrich Nietzsche
About 1 hour during work on Mon & Wed, and anotehr hour or so immediately following work, but before class. Weekends are a mixed bag depending on what is going on with the family. Sometimes I can get 12+ hours in and other weekends I have to skip training completely.

Welcome to the forum.
I train 3 times a week, between 1-1 1/2 hours each time. And I train hard. I supplement it with some cycling every now and then on my "rest" days.

I think he is full of shit.If he is training 4-6 hours a day as he claims then he is doing more harm then good.
4-6 hours will wear anyone out, besides if he can last 4-6 hrs.then his training is useless, because anyone who does martial arts seriously will last only 1hr.to 1 1/2 hours.maybe 2 at most otherwise he/she is not training hard enough and properly.

You're full of shit.If you do you are crazy.Training is not about wearing yourself out until you drop dead.
Training 4-6 hrs. a day does more damage then good.
Ever hear how they say on tv commercials with exercise machines train "smarter not harder",well that concept is also true in martial arts.
It is good to train hard without a doubt but you have to know your limits too,be smart with your training or in the end you accomplish nothing.
Besides if you do train that often everyday, then I am assuming either you run your own martial arts school or don't work or go to school at all and also don't have a family of your own to take care of.
I used to teach Goju Ryu karate,I would train on my own for 2hrs,teach 4 classes,go weightlift for an hour then come back and train in karate, well guess what happened? I started to wear myself out and got tired quicker and sore too.Ya sure you will get in better shape doing what I did but the question is for how long?
I now train better and smarter but in a different style.I am in better shape and stay that way,I last longer in my fights and able to enjoy my training more.Last edited by MuayThaiFighter; 09-14-2003, 04:15 AM.

if you do 1-2 hours of stretching, 1-2 hours of strenght and 1-2 hours of technique.. it is possible.. but recreation
IS important..
and well, you would have to eat enormous amounts of food..
