"Thai kicks to the thigh hit the common peroneal. Also a nerve and a pressure point".

Is this what we call the siatic nerve?

the Siatic nerve runs closer to the back of the leg and up through the back all the way to the toes. A kick with a little more angle can hit the sciatic.

If you are kicking to the side of the leg about 3 inches above the knee (right were the seam of many types of pants are) it is the common peroneal.

It it is on the inside of the thigh it is the femoral

If you want to see a nerve response knee someone lightly in the common peroneal and watch both legs buckle. That is a parasympathetic nerve response.

The peroneal nerve starts by the knee and comes from the sciatic.

            Good pic.

The shot to the outside of the thigh is right where the nerves join is that is usually called the peroneal. Higher up and towards the back is where it's called the sciatic.

Sometimes with nerve strikes they call them things other than what they are though. Because they can get hard to follow. I have a medical chart of nerve passages that i begged a doctor for and he gave it too me.

anyway, that pic was good but there are actually several nerves in there. It does explain why both strikes have similar effect though.

After looking at that pic and not having anything handy to compare it with i noticed that if you blow it up it actually goes much higher than the knee before it ties in to the sciatic.

This pic might be slightly deceptive because it is not showing you the depth. I believe that the sciatic travels farther back in the leg and connects to the back side of the knee. If you haven't already see if you can find a side view of the leg and If I can I will find one and check it out.

                But both work.

I don't have a problem, it has been called the "magic button" since before trainers and what not had much knowledge of anatomy. You guys take shit way too seriously. I know there isn't any magic involved, like voodoo, black magic, or some of that David Blaine street magic.

The next time you see some old school trainers at a fight (guys like Teddy Atlas, Lou Duva, or Goody Petronelli) ask em' about it.

                        knock out?

i know the chin and the front of the face are the best places, but i know you can knock out anyone if you have enough force behind what your using. if you connect to anywhere on the side of the face with enough force it actually will snap the neck to that direction so hard it cuts the blood flow off for a split second causing the person to black out. at least this is what ive been told by other fighters. so really just put some force behind it and catch them at the right time...i know the spot on the chin is true, ive fallen victim to that and i just got grazed by the guys foot didnt even hit me full on.

Also go the body. Liver, Solar Plex, Kidney, even the inside thigh. They won't exactly KTFO, but will put people down easy.

                            Another easy knockout point

Another place you can be easily knocked out with is the ear. I know from personal experience! When a solid blow connects to the ear it disrupts your equilibrium so bad your vision is blurred and you'll experience extreme dizziness and nausea. It may not put you to sleep, but it will put you on your ass and you wont know whats going on for a little while. I believe it has something to do with the ear drum. Anyone have more specific info about it?
