Would you take the risk of having a banned weapon if your life, family and property depended on it? State, Local and federal laws ban certain weapons but If it means having the advantage over the Bad Guys, would you take the risk?

Depends...
I will always have shotguns in my homes -
Legal or not...
When I moved from the Midwest to SoCal -
I did stop carrying n/chuks -
And now only carry my blades...

Any weapon can be useless -
Any weapon can be usefull...
It depends on the user's training -
Not the weapon...

You get one usable strike with nunchucks, after that you have a mess on your hands.
They are very easily impaired even with little training. Low probability weapon.
Knife does damage every time it touches, harder to disrupt the attack, unlimited usable strikes. High probability weapon.
The weapon itself can be less effective even with training and other options available may be much better.

Originally posted by elliotNessWell, the Knife certainly fits the topic because in most states they are banned unless under 3".....so all the kitchen knives over 3 inches in kitchens across the land are illegal?
The law varies from state to state but 4 inches is the common rule for a non concealed single edge folder...fixed blades can be worn openly in some states no matter how large they are...double edges are illegal most places no matter their size as are switchblades....it makes a HUGE difference what state you are in.

Sure.... I can afford chain fed machine guns.
No, Ca. has some restrictive weapon laws. Lets just say my weapons themselves are not illegal, keeping them loaded is illegal...

Knife laws by state; Bernard Levine's web page...
When you're done there check your local County and/or city ordinances...
I can pack a 10 inch bowie on my hip but can't hide a 3 inch karambit? Go figure! I can keep a machette in my garage but not my car...

Anyone properly trained in n-chuks -
Has also learned their effectiveness at locking and restraint.
You obviously have never trained against a proficient n-chuk m.a.ist...
Thanks, Danny
