Ever met a little old guy that you just knew could rip you a new ass?

There really is no "friendly" way to wipe the mats with you...

Honestly? If you know an arm bar... good for you! If you understand the principles and good sportsmanship, all the better.

It's like the typical rear strangle (hold) Good stuff! You can apply it! Good for you. Now... take your "hold" and add some spine torque. Turning your body with the neck isolated makes a decent battering ram out of a head. Not to mention lever? You know how to ring a birds neck?

You can choke and you can torque. Good on you! So you choke and torque?

Can you throw? You choke and torque and throw? Can you hit the choke?

and torque and throw? I mean HIT with your whole arm? (not just a hand)

Ever heard the term "SLAP" a choke ON?

I'm sure if you bite off more than you can chew someone will rescue you.

You know that little face with the tongue hanging out?

      Where is the fun?

          • If you carry one of these with you everywhere, multiple opponents should not be a problem. This may however be hard to control, but the women, children, cars, buildings that are completely destroyed in the process are of little importance, as long as you win.

Srry.. its 6 am and i havent slept yet.. goodnight.

            • Fighting multiple opponents, especially if you're alone, is foolish at best. You WILL BE HURT, SERIOUSLY INJURED, MAIMED or KILLED against multiple attackers!

If you find yourself against more than 3 attackers an "element-of-surprise" attack is your best chance to get away and survive. Attack first, attack hard, and get away A.S.A.P.!

Generally, there is a "leader of the pack" in a multiple attacker confrontation. Taking the leader out first does not guarantee that the attack will subside. More often than not, the other thugs will attack as a group if they see one of theirs down or injured. You have to be ready for a barrage of fists, feet, or weapons coming all-at-once.

Training for such attacks is a good idea, but it doesn't mean that it will always happen as practiced. YOU MUST BE READY FOR ANYTHING!!

...Depends on how good you are, how good they are, and how many there are of them.

...I've been in a couple of fights against two guys, and I think this is probably fairly common. In the second fight, it was more of a one-on-one fight until the first guy started losing (ie. Him on the ground, me standing up.)

So no, I think that's a bit wrong. Sure, unless you're like, black-belt in 3 different martial arts and they're all drunk, unfit, and on crack, you're probably not going to be able to out-fight 5 or 6 guys, but not all fights are like this. And there's a good chance you have a friend or two around as well.

I get what you mean but it's still relevent to learn to fight multiple opponents, even if it's only long enough to get a good escape route.

                • Here's a clip of 3 cowards assaulting 1 guy, the black guy had guts and moved well. Also I think it shows the unpredictability of real fights, like the tripping and falling and the possibility of weapons being involved.

Good clip, it shows a bit of both the do's and don'ts when dealing with multiple opponents.

                    • So many people have probably said similar things but heres what is suggested as per the Multiple Opponent Theory from First Action Self Defence.
                      1. Dont get surrounded ie line them up when you can so your effectively only fighting one person at a time
                      2. Stay off the ground. This is true with street fighting in general
                      3. Attack them hard and fast. Also true with self defnce in general, but you can have less descrimination when it comes to reasonable force. Multiple oppponents is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous than someone with a blade. The 'gang' mentality takes over and groups are more likely to take it too far.

So this was just a quick few points from off the top of my head. You can learn more about First Action Self Defence from www.FreeSelfDefenceTips.com

                      • First Action, FYI your link is broken.

If you have ever trained multiple attackers, you know it’s not easy, it’s almost impossible to defend against. There are too many what ifs and let’s suppose to cover it all, no matter how much you train. It sounds great to say line em’ up, but in reality that chance may not be yours. I know only one thing about defending against multiple attackers that can be applied by anyone at any skill level. Keep moving forward (in any direction) while inflicting as much damage as possible until you find an opening and get the heck out of there.

                        • the best thing is not to get in situations where you have to fight multiple opponents

but if you already got in it there are only three rules

you should move the way only one opponent would be in front of you, the rest should be behind him

your primary targets are: groin, neck, chin, eyes, head

once you fall, they suround you, they get behind your back, you are raped

                              • I can't believe some of the remarks some people have made on this topic. Fighting multiple opponents is dangerous and trying to fight them empty handed is foolish. If you get three guys and they get a hold of you and take you down or you happen to slip and fall you are screwed. Stand by for foot stomps and kicks to the head, face and ribs.

If you have to fight more than three individuals you are better off using a knife. Some people will say that using a knife is going over board but in reality it is not. Some people have been beaten so bad that they either become vegetables or they will killed.

When using a knife you have to avoid their strikes and cut and move. Never stay in one place and never use a wide slashing motion when cutting because your arm could be grabbed. Instead use only thrusts if possible and go for kill targets......throat, stomach and groin.
