please read all of my post before jumping down my neck for pushing MMA...
first, begin with MMA training for the majority of mon-fri training. this will form the foundation in which to build other skills on and it takes the longest time to become proficent in.
make some time to learn filipino based weapon system during the week also. this can be integrated into your all-round MMA skills. they go well together, look at dogbrothers for example.
also, do at least a couple RBSD courses such as FAST, Senshido or SPEAR stuff. this will help with the transition from pre fight to fight stage.
also, read and study up on awareness. learn about the key indicators of an attacker such as clenched fist and/or jaw, refusing eye contact etc. plus much more. if you havnt spent much time developing awareness, learn about the colour code of awareness, it is a good beginning.
awareness is the primary area, followed by RBSD then your fighting skills if all the above has not worked and gone to poo.
i know thats a lot, but nobody said it will be easy and there is a quick fix... unless they are selling you something. hope that helps
