  • Empty hand vs Knife video...not pretty

I found this....take a look, not the fight, just the after effect, he was lucky...but his advice is correct, empty hand vs blade = bad, no matter who you are.

I'm from glasgow as well, and I know how bad it is with knives. Its worse than belfast for knife killings at the height of the troubles!

I also agree, that you shouldn't take risks with kinfe fighters but if you're not armed then there's not much else you can do but block with your hands etc.

I'm with you boar...but what do you say to the cop when you do successfully defend yourself with a weapon? Why were you carrying that cool, expensive ass had use tactical knife??? "I use it to cut steak and whittle"???

I walk around armed occassionally, but if I get stopped by the police and get patted down, what should I do...swallow the knife?

Depends where you live...in places like NYC there's a fair chance you'll be taken in as well...knives have a bad rep thanks to heavy use by gangs.

The object is to get out alive. He took a slash but at least he did not take a fatal thurst.

looks like a nasty little cut, but it coulda been worse. bad times........one moment you are working on your car, next moment you have been cut by a knife by an attacker.

Unfortunately there are no really good unarmed knife defenses, there are just some that are better than others. However, if this is the only cuts he recieved I would say (for the most part) he was generally successful.

                              Baor has it absolutely right!

First things first if you injure a person with a weapon leave scene, call lawyer, before calling the police.

Why leave the scene? Won't that make me look more guilty?

Leave scene becuase his friends (who you may not have seen before the event) maybe right around the corner or the car driving up may be his 6'4" 280lb cousin. Yes, this will make you look more guilty, but saying something stupid under stress and the heat of the moment to plolice may give you an all expense paid tour to a 6x4 foot room with bars for many years to come. Why take the chance?
