They look great, and with Ken Onion and Mick Strider involved it's got to be a good knife. Plus the ZT0400 has a nightmare grind
I LOVE the nightmare grind I was eyeing an MSC Sng Tirsula nightmare grind last night...750 bucks

But I dont like assisted opening sytems, anyones except gods that is, I have two thumbs and a wrist to open any knife I want thank you very much. LOL

Lots of people do like the different assisted openers but they're losing steam among hardcore blade users due to the high number of self inflicted cuts from knives opening when they "thought" you wanted them to...or the ones that failed to open and left the user holding a short stick instead of a knife.

That's one of the reasons I don't own any Strider folders. I have a few of his fixed blades, but I can't afford the folder I want . And, after what Buck did to Mick with the ghost rider, I can't in good conscience buy one of the Buck Striders.

I can understand how you feel about assisted openers. I have never had one though, and am curious. That being said, if I'm going to get one to play around with, it might as well be on a decent knife.

I like the Onions better than most. I sold Daltons and Microtechs and M.O.D's on the top end and the oinions on the low end...if you want an assisted opener its probably the best one for the money by far. I looked at the site it seems that a flipper might be in the works...now if they'll just make an Rc nightmare grind flipper

And totally F### buck. Ghostrider this

          • I will say I think I got lucky with my knife, as I have picked up several of the same model and they did not function as well as the one I have.

And I have had it open and I've slashed up my wrist pretty good before I figured out it was open.

I just got the Benchmade Mike Snody designed 425 gravitator today.
!54cm steel titanium liner lock and Black G-10 handles. If it ever stops raining out here and I get some sunlight I will post pics.

                It's awsome.

You should send it to Mike (Snody) and have him "pimp" it out with some "Crackarta" LOL

                Have you been to SnodyLand?

LOLOLOLOL We tried!!! Mike said he only had the two pieces (you know where they went) and they were HELL to grind...he said it took 30 minutes to grind the scales that usually took 5!! But we called, Mike laughed...he did say he had about 15 BM gravitators in various blade styles coming in to be pimped in CF scales and such and offered up in Snodyland....sweet...I was highly impressed with KOTF's folder!! I cant wait for my JUJU...Mike said it was going out this week

BTW, check out the sweet MICARTA scales on the prototype to all the issue C.I.A. fighters issued since 1980...micarta what every pro counts on.

                  • I've enjoyed reading this thread and smiling at the banter. I've also enjoyed the differences of opinion concerning "the best" knife for fighting. I was really amused by the post that included materials like micarta, and hardwoods as acceptable for a combat knife.

I'd like to toss out a challenge for all of your knives. Take your favorite folder or fixed blade, get a little dishwashing liquid and water on your hands, and start working through some drills. This will give you an idea of how well your handle material will behave when you've actually hit an artery in the neck, arm or leg of your enemy, and you have the guys blood all over you.

The drill is very telling - give it a go.
