Carl is the real deal. I am not sure what happened with Gutter fighting and his website (close combat). But he is certainly a knowledgeable and interesting character. I give him much respect.

According to Clint the site is down possibly for good ....several of the best SD sites went underground about the time Andy Murray and friends began attacking MA forums, some people arent even interested in letting trash read thier sites, much less participate in them.

I didn't think this thread was still being responded to. I seem to be the only one who isn't familar with this guy. I see postings that call him the "real deal" but I still don't know anything new about him. Is he prior service, does he practice a particular style/system or does he have his own brand of SD? And whats this about mma being attacked and having to go underground? who is this Andy Murray?

Doesnt that make him a little selfish? I mean obviously its his choice... but if whatever he teaches is really that great, or really a gold standard we should all look for. Isn't it selfish to with hold that information?

Have you seen the monkeys on this board? One of these specimens commented a guy who stomped a woman to death needed better training You really want them able to buy videos of non sport MA? Personal responsability dude, he doesnt want to sell the info to nameless, faceless people just to make a buck.

People who don't believe there are things that shouldnt be in the public domain haven't ever experienced combatives training. Military style fight training and civilian SD training are two entirely different mentallities.

Dude, he was referring to screennames. I explained things to him in a PM. The relevance was in the timing. Why don't you ask ExcessiveForce to change your screen name to Andy Murray? He has apparrently removed all of the other troll's posts, so why not just be yourself?

While this training could make criminals more effective, sadly its not very hard for them to pull down women from behind and stomp them, whether they have world class combatives training or not.

I guess I'm just thinking a criminal will know how to inflict alot of damage on their victims with or without instruction. Without instruction the victim will take the full force of this damage, possibly with instruction they could take less, or no damage.

Shouldnt helping the majority of people, and people are generally pretty good, be worth the risk of helping a few criminals who already know how to inflict severe amounts of damage. It also hinders criminals as well, as more people who know how to defend themselves = a harder time for criminals.

I'm not saying he should release his stuff, I'm simply trying to get a reason on why he does it. Gain some knowledge on the subject, and then make an informed opinion. Apparently you think pretty highly of him, and I've had no reason to doubt his stuff's effectiveness or his obvious belief that it is worth more than monetary value. ( I would assume he would make money off of selling instructionals/a website).

I suppose with your help I might even be able to look him up one day and learn a thing or two from him directly. I like the threadstarter dont know much about him, I'm fairly open minded so I'd like to learn what I can.
