This kind of statement is a clear sign of a theory-boy who has never actually been put to the test. The whole "it" works nonsense, as if the 'art' magically does the fighting for you, is pure BS.

            You seem to have missed all this, which was addressed to you;

You really did waste your year in Wing Chun.
Maybe not entirely your fault if nobody explained Chi Sau to you.
What could be more useful in clinch or grappling than a heightened awareness of your opponent and their options, through touch alone?

To me, the base problem with all these style vs style threads is the assumption that styles are blueprints you can map over people and turn them into fighters.

If you look at all the top MA people in the world, they're all people who take what they need, and forget about the rest.
Different people, different needs, different things taken.

            e.g.

All this theorizing means zip when you are about to get your clock cleaned.

P.S. For the record. I AM NOT A WING CHUN GUY!
It just happens to be one of many things I train or have trained in.

                    wing chun v muay thai

no muppet...1 years wing chun...if i was to say 1 year,i would then have to add "of"...thus it would become 1 year of wing chun...as in 1 year of wing chun training...but 1 years wing chun...as in 1 years worth of wing chun training...is correct as you would know if you had been paying attention in your english lessons instead of fiddling with yourself!!...schools out

                      So respond to it then.
                      Step up to the plate.
I'm offering you the chance to contest your standpoint against someone with different life experience, and a partially opposing view.
I'm suggesting that's done between two older-gen MA people, in a mature manner.

Of course, if you're unable, feel free to say so at any time.

All I can say if you don't, is that I for one, will not be taking any further forum input from you as seriously as I have in the past.

                        LOL You fail again.

One 'year' would be the correct form in delineating items or as used in a reduced prepositional phrase.

If you wanted to use it as a possessive in the way you are now trying to spin it, you would need an apostrophe, moron.

PETRIE, to be honest I'm not with you.
If you could take the discussion on kindergarten punctuation and grammar to a seperate thread, it would be less distracting and Thai Bri might have less of an excuse, not to answer questions.
