Thanks for that Mike. I kind of understand, but cannot visualise how you manage not to bend your neck forwards, especially if you hit him with the top of your head.

    Any pics?

ps - my head seems stronger at the hairline than it does on the top. Not sure if it actually is though!

    Sounds good.

        Ulo- Ulo

I also wonder how many train the head against other targets as well. Tatay Marquina (my insturctor) always taught to use the head as the third limb in standing postion as in. grab the back of his neck, push it into the cross section of his jaw until he stands up on his toes, the whip him around off balance into an oncoming punch or knee combination (like a muay thai kind of whipping motion. another favorite is if you are fighting on the inside and he hooks, to use the head forcefully against the bicep, then rotate your head underneath to escape to his outside angle.. Here is the idea:

        1. You are inside of his his left hook, with your arm wrapped around his in a semi-wrench position and your right foot placed outside of his lead left.

        2. This lock is found in a lot of martial arts, but as we all know unless you have it perfect, he can fire another right hand at you.

        3. as he fires the right, your left hand slides along his chest to guide it away while you tilt your head and slam the crown into his right bicep.

        4. Keeping hold of his left arm, you rotate your head under and around which now positions, you on the outside of his rightside , but his left arm, and your foottrap, mean that hes now in a crossed position as he falls, and unravels his arm will bend into a figure four type position and impact created by his bodyweight slipping will make a not so happy ending for the ensuing fall.

        I hope this makes sense??

Also what about the head to targets like under the armpit, and the sternum?

(Im a little guy so i usually find these targets easy to find)

        great thread!
