  • How about some good awareness drills?

As opposed to reaction and combat drills.

I once was advised to pretend to be a mugger for a day. Think about where I'd go to attack people, go there and pick out victims, plan the approach, etc. Do everything right up to actually... well, joining the dark side.

Be aware of your surroundings its that simple...

when you sit in say a cafe, have your back to the wall and your eyes scanning all the 180 degrees in front of you, your constantly aware and ready for any attack

walking down the street listen to sounds once in a while look behind you, shadows are a good one to see if somebody is approaching as long as the sun is behind you

blah blah blah , the ramblings of a paranoid man...

How did this help your fighting abilities?

Tony Blauer has a system called "Ballistic Micro-Fights" ( http://www.tonyblauer.com/4105/03_09...o_training.asp ) that might help you out better then stalking people. (Just my opinion)

If I understand right. Most serious MA practitioners don't send the signals predators are looking for when targeting prey. Not saying the body language you send out will always keep you away from trouble but it does diminish the risk.
