A 14-year-old girl abducted at knifepoint by a family acquaintance was found safe Wednesday when officers stopped the man's car near the California state line, police said.
Nelson Flores drove up to a school bus stop in Chandler where the girl was waiting with other children, put a knife to her throat and forced her into his car, police said.
A child at the bus stop used a cell phone to call police, and an Amber Alert was issued describing the car. Freeway signs in Tucson and elsewhere flashed the information.
State police used spikes to stop Flores' car on Interstate 8 near Yuma after motorists reported seeing the car, officials said.
