So in my research i've found several million brands of pepper spray. Alot of which seem like toys from the county fair. Are the brands all that different? should the ones with 10% capscium be disgarded as novelties? Are the 1/2 oz. and 2 oz. containers too small to carry a viable load? any experienced voices would be greatly appreciated. Also, after gettin pepper sprayed, how would one go about cleaning it off?

Fox Labs 5.3 is widely regarded and I actually have hit myself with it just to know what it feels like, it's pure evil. Most places sell decontamination supplies in case you're exposed.
Even an ounce container is enough to put a hurt on someone, remember it's aerosol so a lot of it doesn't weigh very much.
I should also note that when I sprayed it on myself that it took a second to take effect. This delay could be amplified under more stressful circumstances.

I recently lost my pepper spray somewhere... I don't recall the brand name. It said on it that it was a mixture of pepper spray and mace (didn't know there was a difference) and tear gas as well.
Of course I didn't want to carry a weapon unless I knew it worked so I sprayed myself with it once. It completely forced my eyelids shut and burned really bad. If someone hit me with it during a fight I'd still be able to keep fighting but not very well without vision... It took me like 5 minutes to recover from it and that was in the shower immediately afterward. AND I only hit my eyes - if I'd sprayed my nose and mouth as well it would've been much worse.
Judging by how badly it messed up my eyes I'm fairly sure I'd have been coughing uncontrollably and probably throwing up too if I'd gotten my whole face. The only advice I can give to someone that just got sprayed is DO NOT rub your eyes. I dunno what it is about the mixture that causes it but rubbing your eyes makes it much much worse.

I got my hands on an army issue pepper spray but its out.
Try going for one with high capcium content, as much as possible.Screw the guy on the reciving end. Fog or mist is preferred over stream, because they are more likely to hit the target. More collateral damage will occur when using fog or mist spray however. But screw that because people will thank your for saving their asses from the nasty knife man, even though their eyes are burning.
