Are you crying? There's no crying in baseball

I ask, how many times have you been mugged?
It's been attempted twice in my adult life, but they didn't get anything either time. In both cases it was a group of dumb guys in their early 20's that didn't know what they were doing. Fortunately it didn't get violent either time. The details of both are on this site somewhere, I can dig them up for you if you're interested.

Raise your hand if you think 'Kid' is a screen name/persona fabricated by the Ponytail Gang to give themselves an excuse for repeating their dogma over and over without waiting for something to respond to.

        Successfully?

Never, probably had dozens of attempts over the last 40 years though, but then I'm not too scared to go for a walk on the beach at night or to take a walk in a park with a lady.

Join the military bub, then try walking the short mile into town since you wont be allowed to drive your first duty assignment.

See how often the locals try to mug you (especially on payday).

Some bases have forbidden leaving the base on foot its so bad, the Naval training center at Millington Tn is a classic example of that.

Let me guess, you haven't been in an altercation outside of the sandbox by the swing set when little Suzy pushed you down and took your milk money.

Every 9 year old has that fantasy.

You're sure to join your other screenames on ignore quite soon because that is the single most telling statement of your entire posting history.

Ask your mommy to take you to the emergency room, see if you can visit a few of the rape victims who are there being treated for their injuries and ask them how much fun they had fighting the rapist.

Now, I'm off to put you on ignore, I'm sure you'll enjoy talking with Jubs and Sag Lou though, you seem to be on the same wavelength.

I was right, 'Kid' is a weak ploy by the Ponytail Gang. Pathetic.

I'll try not to repeat myself, I'm trying to open a dialogue (in my own loud obnoxious way). So far all I've got is one-liners, though TT is coming around I think.

All a crackhead wants is crack.

Let me try again to explain. You can easily learn how to fight and defend yourself without the constant reminder that bad things do happen. Re-living a traumatic experience (or pretending one is going to happpen) is no way to live your life, let alone train. Although I am a strong proponent of training how you fight, I don't think it should cast a shadow over an otherwise enjoyabe experience. Fighting should be fun.

In an attempt to open a dialogue with what looks to be a paranoid circle-jerk all I've got so far is insults that have nothing to do with the topic. C'mon girls, why so sensitive? Talk shit, but at least try to contribute.

Me, I've had a few mugging attempts, one succesful. Well, they took my empty wallet, if that counts. I'll be damned if I live the rest of my life worrying about the next time though.

Training should be fun. I agree with that. But what about actual fighting? Wouldn't you rather have something practical to back you up if you should run into someone who is intent on doing you or your loved one/s serious harm such as this guy?

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Fightings not fun mate and nor should it be.

Training/sparring/rolling/wrestling/competiting is fun. Don't get confused by the two as they are completely different things.

You say you've been in mugging attempts....you might have successfully defended yourself, and well done to you, but you can't tell me you honestly enjoyed the experience.

I've spoken to lots of people who have been victims of muggings, assaults, and aggravated robbery. These people experience a trauma they do not want to have to repeat ever again. And I too have been in a number of scraps as part of my job....was I successful? So far, yes. Did I enjoy them? No.

Maybe you could explain your point better?

That looks like it's in New Orleans. We put hotter seasoning in our food than what's in pepper spray.

Which guy, the guy on the video? Are you kidding me? I lived in San Francisco, I met guys like that every day. And girls. And guys dressed like girls.

I never said train in a non-practical martial art, unless thats what you enjoy I suppose. My beef is with the "reality" based schools that deal specifically with hypothetical street scenarios that may or may not happen. It's the method of teaching, not the art itself I have a problem with. Do I have to pretend a punching bag is an evil tai chi master on pcp trying to rape me, or can I hit the bag because it's fun?

Some of you need to lighten up. And if you keep getting mugged walking down the same road dozens of times, maybe you shouldn't walk down that road.

Well i tend for the most part to avoid things I don't like. maybe you should avoid RBSD discussions since they seem to bunch up your panties so much.

Confrontation seems to be your thibg though, so maybe you should check out an RBSD school that teaches avoidance and awarness.

My personl belief is that your specialty has less to do with fighting and more with jackassary.

Why should I avoid a forum if it is supposed to be about discussion, or is this one simply a cuddle-retreat for deadly street warriors?

No, fighting isn't my specialty, I'm not a professional fighter. It's what I do for excercise. Now, the fact that I could use it for self defense is certainly a plus. I also believe you should teach kids awareness (and adults if they didn't learn it as children for some reason), but not 3-5 times a week for 2 hours.

Why should I check out a RBSD school, could you answer that? You can even throw around more personal insults from behind your keyboard if it makes you feel tougher. I really don't mind. What does a RBSD school offer that a boxing gym doesn't?
