I don't think she is in a shallow grave right now. And I didn't know she posted her information 3,000 times.

She is young obviously and I think she got enough grief from people like you here. If this is not a joke as a human being of course I'd be concerned...all I can do like some here did, is give her advice.

None of us know where else she posted her information-it seems she uses another board as well- so don't always assume unless you happen to know who is harrassing her. I just would like to know how she "antagonized" her stalker...what did she do to antagonize him?

I don't think she "antagonised" anyone, merely put herself on offer. I think that I should be able to go out in the day and leave my front door wide open. But I know for a fact that I will get burgled whilst I am out, so I don't.

Same as re a web page. I won't put pics and persona details of myself everywhere as I will soon get the same treatment.

Mind you, a my grand old age I would find it amusing. Thats not to undermine Emma. As an 18 year old I would have been freaked out.

As outrageous as it sounds, I'm with H2H. I think Geneva is kidding herself. Just because you SHOULD be able to post a site without receiving hassle, it doesn't mean that you necessarily CAN.

Its all about the difference between the way the world is, and the way the world SHOULD be.

Put it this way, if the stalker has gotten her details from her site, HOW WOULD HE HAVE FOUND HER OTHERWISE!

I think that she looks at a phrase like "you're being stalked because the guy saw you on your site" and sees "you're being stalked as a punishmet, because you shouldn't be allowed to host a site". Its like a knee jek reaction, a red rag to a bull.

Heres a few examples of her logic...

1. Cross the road without looking?

You will soon get run over. "How dare you! You are being like a caveman saying that I cannot walk across the road without looking".

2. Leave the house and leave all the doors and windows open?

You will get burgled. "How dare you! You are beig like a caveman saying that I cannot walk across the road without looking"

3. Climb into the Lion's enclosure at the zoo jus efore feeding time?

You will get eaten etc. etc. ec.

Now of course she does not have the above responses. She knows that it is unwise to do any of these things for the obvious reasons. But, somehow, the example of the woman opening the site site opens up all kinds of issues about freedom and women's rights in her head.

I also believe in freedom and women's rights...... but I don't turn my brain off when an example comes to mind.

Now read my lips...... If you are an attractive young woman and put up both pictures and contact details on the net, you are opening the doors for weirdo's to hassle you. That is not a reflection on you, it is more a sad reflection on them. But don't do it unless you are prepared for the consequencies.

I remember Emma's first post. Many of us warned her of the dangers but, being just a kid, she knew better. Now the poor kid has had her fingers burnt.

I used to do it because I'd be standing there praying and hoping to be invited in.

I'm afraid I'm not really sure what you disagree with? Besides maybe the "I told you so" tone of some of the posts was a little hard, but the general opinion seems pretty common sense prevention.




Emma - I sure hope things are calming down for you and that this new problem turns out to be much smaller than it first appears - often that's the case.
