    Females and fighting By JadeDragon3 - 07-25-2008 10:05 AM

    =========

    I would like to ask a question to all the women. This is a topic that was discussed on another forum. Should women compete professionally in MMA events such as the UFC, EliteXC, etc.... ? Dana White has stated on several occations that women should not fight in these type events and that he will not allow it in the UFC as long as he is there. My second question is if a woman does fight in an event such as these and she just happens to be very attractive/sexy does this "cheapen" MMA events. I was told by another person that it does. I personally don't see it that way. If people (men) tune in to watch MMA events because a woman happens to look good then I don't see it as a problem. In fact I think its a good thing because it might be drawing people in that normally would watch an event of this type. What are all the females oppinions on this? And one more thing, does it make us men a pig for watching women fight because they are good looking?

    Shayna Baszler recently said, when Dana White was questioning the talent of female fighters, that she questions the talent of his heavyweight division.

    I don't think cute girls fighting MMA cheapens it any more than cute guys fighting in MMA and no it doesn't make you a pig.

    People who promote certain fighters because of the way they look over other girls with far more experience/ability kinda suck, but it's all about marketing I guess.

      I believe that women should be allowed to fight at any capacity under any rules and governing body. That being said, I believe that there needs to be a concrete distinction between female fights that are done through some sort of fetishistic exploitation and those that are legit fights.

      Here's my point-

      just check youtube...

      One type is NOT ok, and is degrading to all parties involved.
      One IS progressive.

        I believe it should be her choice. If she(any female fighter) got a warrior's heart and is motivated, then I think it's ok.
