The history of women martial artists By Jules_R - 02-25-2009 02:16 PM

So I have a question. I've been looking all over the place and I cannot find anywhere in martial art history where women were really introduced into the martial arts world. Have we been in all along or did we gradually come in and when? I know there were a few acceptions of maybe wealthy clan or family member's daughters taking some sort of self defense, but it still wasn't completely accepted for a woman to be in the art. I hope I explained what I wanted well enough. Can anyone give me some answers?
