Pushup Problem By Stac3y - 03-02-2009 06:02 PM

I'm not certain this really belongs in the Women of the Martial Arts section, but I've never seen a man with this particular issue, so here goes.
I am swaybacked (or would be, were I an equine); that is, my lower back curves in dramatically above my derriere, which, er...sticks out a good bit. I'm not overweight, and the curvature is not scoliosis; it's just the way I'm put together.
I think this may be the cause of a problem I'm having with pushups. When I do a pushup, my shoulders and behind rise at the same pace, but my back is curved downward so that my belly stays much closer to the ground.
I don't know if this is because of my shape, or if I'm doing something drastically wrong. Do any of you have the same problem? Any suggestions?
