Best workout clothes? By Flea - 03-16-2009 04:28 PM

Okay, I'm embarrassed to catch myself asking this. I'm totally fashion-illiterate. For the most part I could care less, but a lot of my workout clothes are falling apart from use. So as long as i have to shop anyway, I may get something that's at least updated as far as the 90's, right?
Today I went to the store for some new workout pants, and I was really surprised. I'm a size 8 and I tried on some size 12. They may as well have been tights! I could see a full-blown panty line and everything. Am I missing something here?
We have no uniform in my MA class, and I've just been wearing cotton pants and a tee like everyone else (sound the irony bell.) I like the pants and I'd rather keep them in good shape, but not if it means parading my arse as the only woman in a room full of sweaty (if otherwise gallant) men. I'm not being sanctimonious but I believe in dressing modestly; I want to be noticed for my MA prowess rather than my fetching figure. Am I shopping in the wrong place? In the wrong aisle of the right place? Better yet, can anyone recommend a good company for this stuff? Or should I just cross the aisle and buy men's clothes?
