I just saw a little snipped on girls in Afghanistan preparing for the Olympics in London in BOXING.
The scene in the gym was somewhat oddly reminiscent of Rocky, a run down place with 'broken' mirrors (I saw one big shard hanging on the wall), the girls done up in a mix of modest sports gear (long sleeved shirts, long pants.) but with their long hair visible through their wide head bands. Trained by a male instructor.
Working through disapproval from some of their countrymen, including death threads, those girls were inspiring.
When asked if they would stop boxing in light of the death threats, two of the girls said without hesitation but with big smiles 'Never'
