The real trick though is to teach women to have enough self respect, and self reliance not to date a guy who is violent toward them in the first place ...
Stop concentrating on male vs. female violence. You're blinding yourself to the bigger problem, which is human vs. human violence, period.

In the last 4 months, I've had 7 girls, age range 8 to 14, enroll in my school to learn self-defense. Why? Because other girls were beating them up. I've also had 3 boys, age range 7-10, enroll to learn self-defense. Why? Because girls were beating them up. Females are just as violent as men.

The true overall issue is the glorification of violence in our society and how it is portrayed as the solution to everything.

    • I take exception at being told what to do. (ie stop focusing on men's violence blah blah etc)

This forum is about men's violence and that is the topic I replied to.

Most people, myself included, do not support violence of any kind (self defence and war situations excluded).

And whilst there are always the exceptions, and women's violence is not unheard of, crime statistics show that overwhelmingly, that physical violence is perpetrated mostly by men.

If you have a problem with the topic of the thread go elsewhere ...

Otherwise you may like to read on and get educated ...

      • Violence is a fact of life, always has been always will be. At least untill the Merk Manual, or DSM-IV list lead deficiency as a diagnosable disease and 115 grain JHP as a legit cure. In the mean time it's about awareness and looking out for one another. If a man hits you once he'll do it again. And some women just need help getting out of a bad situation. Theres lots of factors involved. Do some research and help where you can. If your a man who's abusing a woman or child. Get some help now.

            • against the "core beliefs" of the martial arts? **** you buddy...don't normatize everyone else's martial philosophy with your own. Not everyone, THANK GOD, agrees with your stance on what is couth and uncouth...

Example; I think that cracking jokes is okay...you don't. You think it's okay to make character judgements and put down a whole group of people you don't know from the safety of an alias, without addressing them personally, I don't.

Why are you still lingering around, appologise to the people you've insulted, or get the **** out. Isn't there something in martial etiquette about saving face? Where's your integrity now???

This forum isnt about mens violence. (Although sometimes it seems that way.) This is the WOMENS COUNTER OFFENSIVE FORUM.

Where does it say Man in there, where does it say "Learn how to defend yourself from men!".. no thats not waht it says..

Counter offensive, a forum to teach you how to counter any offensive activities from a womans perspective, this includes countering offense from Men, Women, Dogs, Bears, Pigs, Children... etc..

And this this whole bit of your post...

"And whilst there are always the exceptions, and women's violence is not unheard of, crime statistics show that overwhelmingly, that physical violence is perpetrated mostly by men.

We need to get educated, on what, YOUR beliefs? I've already proven this isnt a forum about men's violence towards women, but thats want you want to turn it into and with statements like "if you have a problem with this topic go elsewhere" show that you just want a place to bash men.

I do have a problem with this topic, because the sole reason your posting in it is to bash men, make false claims, and tell people they need to leave and get educated because they have different views than you. If we all agreed there would be no such thing as a forum.

                • I certainly don't think it's male-bashing to point out that the majority of violence against women is perpetrated by men. This isn't just an opinion but is documented by case studies, statistics, crime report percentages, psychology, etc. If you don't agree with it please reference your sources. It IS true that female violence is on the rise, but the numbers are still FAR lower. This *is* the women's counter offensive forum, but in order to mount a good counter-offense, wouldn't it be helpful to know what one is most likely to be contending with?
