    Sifu Richardson,

I am not that familiar with Inside Kung Fu, so I was wondering if you could answer a few questions. First, what style(s) of Gong Fu do you practice and/or teach?

As I have said in my two or three posts, I have been practicing Ching Shan Gong Fu for 7 years this July. It is an offshoot of Wah Lum Tan Tui Tong Long, or Flower Forest Springing Leg Praying Mantis and Shaolin Five Animals. It has been modified with principles drawn from Ba Gua Zhang. My Sifu is the founder and the only person who currently teaches it.

My Sifu has talked about it alot in the Adult classes which I attend, but I would also like to ask you; How can I gain more internal power? I attended a seminar by He Jin Bao about Ba Gua Zhang. During one of the days that we were practicing applications, he spoke about flowing into the strike/push and at the very end before you make contact, you add power. I am probably not explaining it correctly, but it was something along those like that. Oh, now I remember. He called it "Shocking Force". Thank you for your insight.

    Hi Silent,
I know where you are coming from. I would suggest that most of your questions can be answered through self-discovery, which is the basis of JKD. It is about your experiences that will make you a fighter. I suggest that you spar with as many people as possible, preferably people outside your school. Try kickboxers, grapplers, and jiu-jitsu guys. See how well your tactics work. If they work great, you will probably be able to make a few adjustments to improve them even more. If they don't work well, learn from the person you sparred with. Enjoy!
