If you've been training for that long then maybe you can help me out. I need to know what styles train people using the Bo. I have a 5' aluminum Bo staff and have been training with it for years, but by myself. I've also been training with a Rapier as well but I know that I want to search for a Fencing school. Do you know any styles that involve the Bo?

          Anways Welcome to the fourm.
          Thanks for the "warm" welcome.
Let's see, I am the founder of the Sungja-Do system and the Director of the International Sungja-Do Association, which has been in existence since 1990. I hold the following degrees: 8th Dan in SJD, 8th Dan in TKD, 7th Dan in HKD, 6th Degree in CFA Kung Fu, 4th Dan in Aiki-JuJitsu and many other lesser ranks in various arts.

Finding a system that teaches the Bo staff? Most if not al "karate" styles teach the staff and some Korean styles teach it also. Kung Fu teaches the staff at different lengths. So, just pick a school close to you, or pick up a video on e-bay.

I live in Florence, SC, USA and am open for any discussion, that I can answer truthfully. If I know about the subject, I will answer. If I don't I will find someone to give me the answer. I have many friends and acquaintances around the world.

Actually I pretty much have most of the basic techniques of the Bo (and maybe some advanced ones). Judging by what I've seen and read, it seems there are some other styles that are more preferrable than Karate (bluntly I've seen and read people say that Karate has some bad flaws and also lacks some things). I don't know any of this to be true myself but in any case I'd like to find something that has more dedication to the Bo itself (body attacks too, but more given emphasis on the Bo than usual).
