  • Im new!

    Hi all,

I been reading posts here for the last week, Im looking to take up a MA.

Im 30 and have 3 children. Im looking to for a style that is the best for self defence in real life situations.

The 3 im looking at are Jujitsu, Kung fu or Wing chun.
they are the styles nearest to where i live.

I'd like to hear any comments on which i should go for and reasons why.
Just for the record if it helps the decision, Im 5' 8" 11,3 stone.

    Many thanks

Really its going to depend on the teaching style of the school and if you are really going to attend classes. Any of them might be the best answer to defending yourself, but if you don't enjoy the instruction you won't train. So, go to each one and try a class or two (most places will give you at least one free class). Then decide which you most enjoyed, and which seemed the most useful.

Also, terms like Jujitsu and Kung Fu are too generic. Wing Chun is a style of "kung fu".
